Seaway7 wins BC-Wind Offshore contract in Poland

Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, has been awarded a contract by Ocean Winds for the BC-Wind offshore project. Located in the Baltic Sea, approximately 23 kilometres off the Polish coast, the site will feature 26 offshore wind turbine generators.
XOcean secures survey contracts for six Dutch offshore wind farms

Six Dutch offshore wind farms have awarded five-year survey contracts to XOcean. Eneco coordinated the agreements on behalf of the wind farms: Borssele 3&4 (Blauwwind), Borssele 5 (Two Towers), Eneco Luchterduinen, Hollandse Kust Noord (CrossWind), Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende), and Prinses Amaliawindpark (Eneco). Collectively, these sites include 303 turbines.
Macro Offshore secures long-term accommodation contract with Siemens Energy

Macro Offshore has been awarded a contract by Siemens Energy to provide accommodation services for offshore wind projects in the North Sea. The agreement will begin in June 2027 and includes a firm six-year period, with Siemens Energy holding options to extend the contract by up to four additional years.
Dong Fang Offshore signs contract for completion of subsea and cable-lay vessel

Dong Fang Offshore has signed a shipbuilding contract with Westcon in Norway for the completion of a large subsea and cable-lay vessel. Westcon will take over the build of the vessel, which is already under construction, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
Vestas expands onshore blade production in Poland

Vestas is expanding its blade factory in Goleniów, Poland, which manufactures blades for the company’s onshore V172-7.2 MW EnVentus turbine. A second production line is being added, doubling the site’s capacity.
Jan De Nul introduces new simulators for offshore wind installation and dredging

Jan De Nul is commissioning two new training simulators at its Aalst office in Belgium. The first is a crane simulator designed to support offshore wind farm installation. Modelled as a digital twin of the vessels Les Alizés and Voltaire, it allows teams to rehearse installation steps in a controlled environment.

WindEurope and Hitachi Energy have released a joint study assessing the total system costs of five possible energy pathways for Europe to 2050. Four pathways reach net zero, while a fifth “slow transition” pathway does not. The analysis concludes that a system built around high shares of wind and solar remains the lowest-cost option, even when accounting for grids, storage and back-up generation.
Germany adjusts offshore wind auction volumes after 2025 round attracts no bids

Germany’s Bundestag has agreed changes to the WindSeeG framework following an offshore wind auction for centrally pre-examined sites in 2025 that received no bids. On the recommendation of the Economic Affairs and Energy Committee, the government will set auction volumes for 2026 at 2,500–5,000MW to provide more flexibility after the empty tender and to allow time to adjust auction design before the next round in 2027.
